"I began WISE this past June and joined every meeting and opportunity to advance. One of these was the Leadership Cohort, where I met women who were open about their strengths and weaknesses. I realized that “true leaders are honest about their shortcomings,” and I made that my personal slogan. We learned about philosophy, time management, public speaking, and networking. Though I want to put myself out there, I often feared how I would be perceived. This fear held me back, even though I naturally stand out. In the networking session, I got great advice to speak with poise and conviction, fear or not, I need to get my words out. I had the opportunity to do a presentation for the group, which felt phenomenal. My confidence is now at a new level, and I’m embracing it. The Leadership Cohort is a safe space for women who need support and guidance. I would love to continue my growth and return for another session."
